Magic Plan – Don’t break a sweat!

MagicPlan measures the size of the room, draws the floor plan and creates a web site with an interactive floor plan to showcase your property.
Solutions are available on the market to help measure a house, draw floor plans and program on the web. However, the current solutions are not integrated and are complex to implement. Creating a floor plan takes time, necessitates expertise, and is often expensive. Thus, creating the floor plan of a house is still very much in the hands of professionals, without being accessible to the majority of people. MagicPlan revolutionizes the real estate market: No need for expertise, time or money.

iSynth for iPhone – Photosynth just smaller

“iSynth brings much of the functionality of the original Photosynth to the iPhone, and for the most part it works well. In fact, the touch-screen interface makes the experience even more intuitive than the original.”

Photosynth – Not new and not irrelevant! – Reinact your hollyday in TRON mode!

In simple terms, Photosynth allows you to take a bunch of photos of the same scene or object and automagically stitch them all together into one big interactive 3D viewing experience that you can share with anyone on the web.

Photosynth is really two remarkable technical achievements in one product: a viewer for downloading and navigating complex visual spaces and a “synther” for creating them in the first place. Together they make something that seems impossible quite possible: reconstructing the 3D world from flat photographs.

Using techniques from the field of computer vision, Photosynth examines images for similarities to each other and uses that information to estimate the shape of the subject and the vantage point each photo was taken from. With this information, we recreate the space and use it as a canvas to display and navigate through the photos.

Providing that experience requires viewing a LOT of data though—much more than you generally get at any one time by surfing someone’s photo album on the web. That’s where our Seadragon™ technology comes in: delivering just the pixels you need, exactly when you need them. It allows you to browse through dozens of 5, 10, or 100(!) megapixel photos effortlessly, without fiddling with a bunch of thumbnails and waiting around for everything to load.

TopMod – parametric top models – head on the block

TopMod is based on a new paradigm that allows dynamically changing the topology of 2-manifold polygonal meshes. The new paradigm always guarantees topological consistency of polygonal meshes.
Based on our paradigm, by simply adding and deleting edges, handles can be created and deleted, holes can be opened or closed, polygonal meshes can be connected or disconnected. These edge insertion and edge deletion operations are highly consistent with subdivision algorithms. In particular, these operations can easily be included into a subdivision modeling system such that the topological changes and subdivision operations can be performed alternatively during model construction.
TopMod demonstrates practical examples of topology changes based on this new paradigm and show that the new paradigm is convenient, effective, efficient, and friendly to subdivision surfaces.

MyPaint – neurotic finger painting for the professional artist – head on the block

MyPaint is a fast and easy open-source graphics application for digital painters. It lets you focus on the art instead of the program. You work on your canvas with minimum distractions, bringing up the interface only when you need it.

YafaRay render engine – Vvvvvvvray! – head on the block

YafaRay is a free open-source raytracing engine. Raytracing is a rendering technique for generating realistic images by tracing the path of light through a 3D scene.
A render engine consists of a “faceless” computer program that interacts with a host 3D application to provide specific raytracing capabilities “on demand”. Blender 3D is the host application of YafaRay.
YafaRay is released under the LGPL 2.1 license. You can downloadYafaRay in the downloads section.

Works awesome with Blender 3D modeller
